Don’t be Hierarchal
- of the nature of a hierarchy; arranged in order of rank."the hierarchical bureaucracy of a local authority"
I have noticed that when it comes to knowing people, artist some tend to be “Hierarchal”.
In other words they only comment on artist work or “like” an artist work that they perceive as “good” as them or “better” than them.
I consider myself lucky a lot of people I know don’t work this way and as a matter of fact have encouraged me to improve while they are recognized artists in the industry.
I think it’s really crappy to be this way. Do you think your “likes” are awards? That a “lesser” artist isn’t worth a comment?
The other day I saw a 15 year old who drew something real nice on IG and I liked and followed him. He messages me saying “Yikes why are you following me? Your a pro”.
I said “I think you should keep it up and thank you for calling me a “Pro”. We are all striving for more. “
Drop your ego because what you are doing is the same as being at a party and only hanging with and talking to the “popular people” while not even giving anyone else at the party a second glance because that are not “cool”.
